This is a small "nook" I found while walking between two buildings on Michigan University's campus. I saw the three benches accompanied with a lot of birds and squirrels and no one around; I though the scene looked really magical and decided to take pictures here. The vines growing up the brick looked really interesting and the sone benches made it look like somewhere that used to be used was but abandoned, even though that isn't the case it still seemed special to me.
When walking on U of M's Campus I was really struggling to find places where there weren't a lot of people and I could take all sorts of angles of shots. I found this place with these really interesting arches and no one near and decided this was the place. I think the arches give the building so much character and were really fun to photograph.
When I was driving home from one of my wrestling meets I saw this really bright red church off the side of the road. I thought it was interesting because of both the bright color and simplistic design. We (My mom and I) Pulled off the the side of the road and waited until cars had stop driving through so we could take various pictures and angles of the church.
By the time I went to this location I had already taken a lot of pictures of old brick or stone buildings and was getting a little bored and the same, repetitive style. At first this building looked un-interesting and boring due the the lack of bright color and interesting texture, that is, until I noticed how deep the ridges of the building were. Going inside the ridges created a really interesting angles and brought life and originality to this, otherwise dull, building.
I took this photo inside the "Law Quad" on the U of M's campus. The law quad was filled with beautiful interesting, medieval-looking structure but all of them were to big to photograph in there full glory, other than this one that is. I think the way the light was reflecting off of the building was so interesting and pretty and think it was the perfect choice for my pictures. My biggest struggle with these photographs was waiting until there weren't people. The Law Quad was FILLED with people and t=getting a shot without them proved to be a long process but was definitely worth the wait.
